What color would you paint my living room?

I'm trying to decide what color to paint our living room. Our living room is connected to our dining room with just a thin U-shaped wall to serve as a small divider. The carpet is a light tan color. I want to paint the dining room part Kumquat (a orange red type of color) with Chestnut Stallion (a reddish brown type of color) as the accent for the molding on the top and bottom of the room. So now my question is what on earth do I do to the living room? I'm trying to incorporate the brown somehow because the I plan on bringing brownish type of color into the kitchen to bring out the stonework on the backsplash.

I'd love some ideas because honestly, I'm style and decorating challenged. :P

What color would you paint my living room?
I popped your two colors into the Behr Paint online visualizer (LOVE the colors, btw) and here are their suggestions for coordinating colors:

sweet apricot

italian olive

maple leaf

california poppy

billiard table

I think the sweet apricot is my personal fave.

And "Vanilla Delight" for the ceiling in both rooms.
Reply:my ideal living room would be neon bright pink! but that's just me, i am a pink-a-holic. :) i also am decorating challenged! sorry!
Reply:go to shermanwillams.com and you play with that i did on paint a room i did that and it was really awsome. i am moving into a place with brown walls.

but to add light go with pastels nothing loud and

for if you want it dark use the dark colors, it will really be a good idea to use the light colors to make it inviting
Reply:Sounds like you've gotten some good suggestions, so just go for it . . . it's only paint. So if you're not happy with the outcome, just cover it up with another color. Good luck!!
Reply:You could do a brown as an accent in the living room and do a burnt orange on the walls. Personally I like light grays and bieges for my walls. I am not as gutsy as some people when it comes to colors... Good luck!!
Reply:I love the brown colors thy work with just about anything.

I would do 2 wall and that u-shaped wall in a brownish color and the other wall in that kumquat.

A sage green would also look good just stay away from hunter green.

Or you can use a golden color like a deep mustard.
Reply:I think i probably paint the walls a salmon colour and the ceiling a slightly paler shade of salmon.

Good luck and have lots of fun.
Reply:i think that if you are adding a brown in there trhy to incorporate green since you have a few earthh tones
